Most of the students will be confused, it is usually new thing for them and they will be very surprise if they know what the mood is, here we are going to discuss further about mood
Moods in English are used to indicate a person’s attitude or intent towards an action or action that is indicated by using a verb that explains the intent of the speaker or writer in a sentence.
Those who study English are usually very focused on the procedure for composing good English sentences, but they must also understand that the sentences that have been compiled also have moods. Expression of this attitude is shown by using verbs that explain the intention of the speaker or writer in a sentence
Types of verb moods include the following: Indicative mood, Imperative mood, and Subjunctive mood.
- Indicative mood
Indicative mood is the most common type of sentence and is often used to make sentence statements or questions,
for example:
he works hard for his family
are they coming soon?
- Imperative mood
Imperative mood is the type of sentence used to express an explicit command, direction, or advice. Most of these imperative sentences do not use a subject or pronoun
for example:
go out of this room!
Be honest!
- Subjunctive mood
Subjunctive mood is the type of sentence used to express a wish or desire that does not actually occur or does not correspond to reality,
for example:
I wish I could fly
If He were here
