The Use of Other(s)

  1. Another
  • Used for Singular

Example :: Please give me another book

  • Not spesific, means that still have another option, but we only choose one.

Example :: This door is broken. Use another door.

  • Followed by noun or pronoun

Example :: This book is broken. Please, give me another book.

                                              Or

                  This book is broken. Please, give me another.

  • Followed by number

Example :: I give you  another five dollars

  1. Other(s)
  • Used only for uncountable noun

Example :: Please, give me other books

  • Not spesific , we know the porpose or the quantity, but not spesific.

Example :: The president makes other governoors follow his blusukan style.

  • Followed by noun or pronoun

Example :: these books are broken. Please, give me other books!

                                              Or

                  These books are broken. Please, give me others!

  1. The Other(s)
  • Used for singular or plural
  • usually if there are two objects or people then the other means the other. if more than two are interpreted as the rest
