Hy Speakouters, Before and After in a grammar have some functions to apply in a sentence, and it will be better if we use the correct tenses followed
There are some functions of Before and After, such as:
- As a Preposition
Used gerund after that, just like:
“Before going to school, I usually have breakfast with whole my family”
“After cooking for dinner, my mother likes to play with her cat”
- As a Conjunction
There will be tenses followed
After + past perfect tense
Before+ simple past tense
The examples:
“ the teacher left the class after I had finished my examination”
“ they had painted the wall before I came to their house
