Hello, Speakout lovers. How’s life?
On this occasion, I would like to share my student activities in English Club. This event took place on 21st of July 2018, at 9 am.
This activity was followed by Speakout students from classes namely Sydney, London and New York, which consisted of children and teens. All students were very excited to participate in this activity, because they learnt English while cooking. In English Lesson this activity is called procedure text. Students learn to make something by telling the steps how to make the thing itself.
All of participants were divided into 4 groups. 2 groups were children and 2 groups were teenagers. Each group consisted of 3 to 4 students. Before starting the activity, they have prepared the equipments and materials from their house.
For the menu which would be made, children made 2 kind of desserts namely fruit soup and fruit satay, while the teenagers made cappuccino jelly and choco balls oat meal.
Every group showed how to make the dessert, starting from the equipments used, ingredients needed and how to create the menu itself. Their presentation should be in english, because this activity is to train children to speak English fluently.
All participants were very enthusiastic in this activity. Besides they can directly practice English, they can also interact with other students through asking and answering session about dishes made by every group. And the other excitement, they also couldn’t wait to taste the recipe they made by themselves. J
